| Charlie was born August 7, 2006,
and was
bred by Misty Buhrman (Buhrman Shelties) in West Virginia. As a
puppy, Charlie was plagued with illness that he quickly overcame.
Charlie was not purchased with the intention of being a show dog,
we really only wanted a bi-black because they were unique. But
because of the quality of Charlie and his solid structure, we decided
that if he made size he should be shown. Charlie did not make
size until he was 10 months old and finally topped out at 13 3/4". Although he is a small package, Charlie excells in structure and head. He is a really nice example of the Sheltie breed, but he lacks one important show attribute, he will not show expression to the judges. Charlie has been evaluated and comented on by Judges and other Sheltie people; some of their comments include: "This dog is an example of almost perfect structure, but he lacks enthusiam" - Judge Jean D. Simmonds (Carmilye Shelties)
"Very nice dog, learn how to groom his ears better" - Judge Katie Gammill (Indian Creek Shelties) "Sir, your dog is really nice" - Judge Thomas J. Touzel "Solid dog" - George Danforth (Romayne Shelties) "Evertime I see Charlie he makes chills run down my spine because of his great structure" - Beth Rice (Fiann Aussies) Charlie is an excellent mix of Apple Acres, Tall Timber, and old Pocono/Sea Isle/Banchory lines with excellent out crossing . Charlie has a good pedigree, out of 62 dogs in his 5 generation pedigree, approximately 51% are AKC & CKC Champions and 34% are ROMs. According to Sheltie Pedigree Lines website, Charlie is inbred/linebred (calculated on 10 generations) 4.15% on:
