We recommend that all pet animinals get microchiped.  If your dog gets lost or stolen, you have a much higher chance of recovering them if they are chiped.

Currently there are many types of chips on the market with each company trying to get their piece of the pie.  I researched the microchip world before making a decision.

I was not pleased with the battle over encrypted vs. unencrypted, 128Hz vs. 134Hz, and European vs. America standards.

I decided to use the Avid chips because they have been around for a long time and their scanners are available most everywhere.

Someday the microchip war will end and we will have standard scanners that read all brands regardless of frequency or encryption method, but until then, Avid has an established system that works.
